Walk Worthy Day at the Georgia State Capitol 2016

On Monday, March 14, 2016, members of AHG Troop GA-0594 joined sixteen Trail Life USA and American Heritage Girl Troops at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, GA for the first Walk Worthy Day at the Georgia State Capitol.

This event centered around bring together Trail Life USA troops and American Heritage Girl troops for the recognition of Trail Life USA and American Heritage Girls by the Georgia State Legislature.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body honor and commend Trail Life USA, Trail Life in Georgia, and American Heritage Girls for their tireless efforts in shaping the youth in Georgia and the United States and wish them continued success. – HR 1613

We would like to thank Representative John Carson for arranging this event as well as for sponsoring this resolution with Representatives Sam Teasley, Wes Cantrell, Geoff Duncan, and Chuck Efstration. We’d also like to thank the sponsors who made lunch possible and keep this event free for the attendees.

During the event, we had the chance to hear from Rob Green, Trail Life National Director of Field Operations; Dr. Sara Worley, AHG National Board member; Mark Williams, GA Commissioner of DNR; Attorney General Sam Olens; and many others.

We had about 200 Trailmen, AHG girls, leaders, parents, and siblings attend.

We also were able to get a picture with Governor Nathan Deal.
